How will they do that?

Those folks aren't proposing to shut down RRAP. They are simply
proposing
to create a moderated version.

People will have the choice to post to either or both newsgroups.
However,
much of what gets posted to RRAP will not get through the moderation
process
on the other group.

Besides, why should it bother you if people who aren't on rrap decide
what to do with it?

It won't?

By your first question above, you indicate that you don't know very
much about the process. Now you pretend to have all of the answers.

Besides, why should it bother you if people who aren't on rrap decide

Why should it bother you that non-hams have a say in the ARS?

They aren't doing anything to rrap. It will continue to exist and those who
wish to do so will continue to post.

I think the express purpose is to limit those who would wish to
continue to post.

Well that's interesting because the moderators will either have to block me
or block everyone else since I've disagreed with most people at one time or
another on something. The cross postings from outside the amateur radio
groups the last few days have really been annoying.

You are mistaken, Dee. Look at the past history of the
"moderators." In the majority they are those favoring morse
mode above all other optional-use modes. Your "dissent" has
been MINOR with those "expert amateurs." You, as an
obvious morseperson, will not be blocked out.

It's been the style of the morsemen on this newsgroup to
belittle, denigrate, enage in prissy little pedantic diatribes over
words that do not fit in the code-tested amateur extra
"expertise" opinions on What Is Good For [US] Amateur Radio.

To say that such "does not exist" is not only wrong but
deliberately hypocritical...if not behaving in atypical ostrich
syndrome of hiding heads in sand and refusing to acknowledge
reality. Oh, the "moderators" will make all the statements of
"we treat everyone fairly" but such are simply political-group
LIES (called "spin" in the vernacular). The "moderator" group
will simply proceed as they have in the past...giving an
overbalanced favoritsm to morsemanship with scant attention
(other than lip service) to other optional modes.

After all, only the amateur extras Know What Is Good For
(THEIR version of) Amateur Radio. Nothing will have changed
except the newsgroup title.

The cross postings from outside the amateur radio
groups the last few days have really been annoying.

That's an entirely DIFFERENT problem...one that Google
just REFUSES to acknowledge or to correct. Live with
it. Google refuses to fix the cross-posting problem that has
existed for years.

Or, in typical ostrich-syndrome elitism, just block them all
out. Then they won't exist. For you.

Dee, it's no worse than Robesin's "excrement eating" posting, but no
one seems to mind that.
