I was confused and seen academia as a series of VERY rigid hoops you had to jump through. On day, Mr. Willet(sp) said to me, during a discussion, "It doesn't matter how you learn a thing, it only matters you learn it." At the time I did not realize the importance of his words, but not too much after, I adopted them and have shared them with others, along the way ... and, more importantly, I have adopted them as a rule to live by.
