Don't worry about the leen-yar, if I drive on yer bumper there'll be no problem ... but do have a couple of 300 watt motorola 2-30mhz xistor amps here ... I don't think the alternator on the harley will run the amp though, I'll probably have to ride yer bumper. *evil grin No joy, JS. The Austin-Healey got traded in on the unwise demands of a lady who got very attached to me back in '61. It DID work surprisingly well with a base-loaded shorty whip. The A-H had an all-aluminum body with great conductivity in body panel seams. Mobile-wise, a 20-mile shoot was clear and distinct with the puny 3 W of AMed RF, even with some QRM. The single-conversion receiver (direct to 455 KHz, not good) didn't like close-in signals like on the 101 and would cross-modulate anyone within 10 car lengths on the freeway. Threes, LA |

Should we make 'em a cheap offer? ?grin On second thought, I would trust Hans Brakob and Phil Kane for a fair shake. I've agreed and disagree with both in here and doubt there is the terrible enmity as demonstrated by Miccolis, Heil, and Kelly in public. Need I mention that "consulting moderator" Phil Kane is a communications attorney? On Billings from him I might need to hire a CPA but on other matters, none. :-) LA Ya know, my mamma had a sayin', "Birds of a feather flock together." After havin' takin' a good look at that flockin' group, I think there was wisdom in her words ... Regards, JS you flock birds? |

Back in September of 2006, you wrote a post to rec.radio.amateur.policy that can be seen at: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.r...e=source&hl=en In that post, you were asked: "What is the end-goal of your continuing participation here?" And you replied: "It is as I've stated many years ago, "to advocate the elimination of the manual morse code test in US amateur radio licensing. When that elimination happens, I will leave this newsgroup." " In case you missed it, the manual Morse Code test for a US amateur radio license has been eliminated completely back on Feb 23, 2007. Yet here it is several days later and you have are still posting to RRAP. You wrote that you were going to leave, but you're still here. Why? That's an easy one, Jim. Len's claim of only being here to eliminate Morse Code testing in amateur radio licensing was a falsehood as evidenced by his posts over better than a decade. It follows that his claim that he'd leave after the elimination of Morse testing was also false. He has decided to go on with peculiar tales of some mythical "Church of St. Hiram" and the goofy idea of mounting a low frequency loop antenna horizontally when mounted near (in terms of wavelength) to the ground.
