Subject: FA: Last Day! - Yaesu VX-7R Handheld & Accessories
From: Mike Coslo Date: 7/6/2004 8:42 AM Central Standard Time Message-id: I think it's too bad that Dwight is getting out of Ham radio. Is he REALLY...?!?! I know this will be a dead and forgotten subject by then, but his current license expires in 2008. I bet he renews it. Furthermore, if he's REALLY trying to make a statement, let's keep an eye on QRZ. I say if he has a "point" to make, he writes "CANCEL" across the front of it and sends it back to Gettysburg. I say he DOESN'T do THAT. That's the nice thing about an Amateur Radio license...even if it doesn't fit your needs or interests "for now", you can keep it in your pocket and you have it if you need/want it. Some grandstand play about "I'm getting out of Ham Radio" is just that...grandstanding. I wonder what the REAL underlying reason is... 73 Steve, K4YZ |

He did not say he was trying to make any "statement". He said that here, too. But people who make a point of announcing thier departure are seeking attention for some reason. (eg: people who swallow a "handful" of "pills" then call 9-1-1 to announce what they have done...) Like I said...we'll see what happens. I say he'll be "around" Amateur Radio for a long time. 73 Steve, K4YZ |

It was simply mentioned in the messages about the auctions to explain the reason for the sale of those items. When people see a lot of similar items being sold by an individual, why is often the first question asked. (eg: people who swallow a "handful" of "pills" then call 9-1-1 to announce what they have done...) Well, since I swallowed "all" the "pills" (all my ham equipment is gone), it's a little late to call 911 or anyone else. :-) And, with that, I have really got to go. Take care. Stewart |

It was simply mentioned in the messages about the auctions to explain the reason for the sale of those items. When people see a lot of similar items being sold by an individual, why is often the first question asked. And why would it be anyone's business? Just say "no longer need this item for my current activities". (eg: people who swallow a "handful" of "pills" then call 9-1-1 to announce what they have done...) Well, since I swallowed "all" the "pills" (all my ham equipment is gone), it's a little late to call 911 or anyone else. I am sure the guy who bit over $400+ dollars for used equipment that he could have gotten new for less is wondering what pills HE can swallow. And, with that, I have really got to go. Step lively. Take care. Always. Steve, K4YZ |

When people see a lot of similar items being sold by an individual, why is often the first question asked. People often want to know why a piece of equipment is being sold, i.e., why don't you want it anymore? So you gave a reason. But Nooooooo! There has to be an _underlying_ reason!!! Hi, hi, hi. (eg: people who swallow a "handful" of "pills" then call 9-1-1 to announce what they have done...) A complete, raving lunatic! Well, since I swallowed "all" the "pills" (all my ham equipment is gone), it's a little late to call 911 or anyone else. :-) And, with that, I have really got to go. Take care. I got a inactive ham re-interested in HF over field day. He hadn't done anything for years. But PSK31 got his attention. He won't let it lapse now. Some grandstand play about "I'm getting out of Ham Radio" is just that...grandstanding. I wonder what the REAL underlying reason is... Maybe cause we're all mean? ;^) - Mike KB3EIA - |

The conspiracy theorists probably think he had a "REAL underlying reason" to get into the service as well. Pffft. |
