On another "radio-related" newsgroup, an amateur asks:

"Subject: 80 meter European and Russian SSB frequencies?

Where is a list of the freq allocations for DX on 80m ssb?"

From the worlds greatest dxer, I was under the impression that

we
weren't permitted to know the amateur allocations of other

countries.
We must blindly tune up and down the bands hoping that we snag

a
contact with a needed country. Having knowledge of where to

tune is
forbidden.

1. I'll point out for a fourth, fifth or sixth time, I've never

claimed
to be the world's greatest DXer--but I thank you for the

compliment.

You assume I was talking about you?

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. You've written the same thing a

number
of times and we have certainly discussed the amateur allocations of
other countries. If you have a correction to make, please do so.

Suit yourself. You're not the world's greatest DXer, merely well
known.

I believe I've pointed that out each time you or Len has used the
"World's Greatest DXer" tag as a reference to me. Yet both of you
continue to make the same mistake over and over. Is it because neither
of you is capable of learning or because it is an attempt to take a
cheap shot at me?

Oh, gee. You sure don't mind dealing in cheap shots until one comes
your way.

Anything in particular come to mind when you came up with that
statement?

Toughen up a little, whydoncha?

I have. I have a low tolerance for your deliberate falsehoods.

Tsk. You have "low tolerance" (practically none) for any
independent thought or opinion other than your own. :-)

It isn't a career goal of anyone. There is no way to make a living at
DXing.

Tsk. Job printers making QSL cards might disagree with you. :-)

More tsk: Many ads for amateur HF transceivers and HF antennas
come right out and say buying their things is good for DX. Those
ads keep appearing so the makers are making money at it... :-)

Get in line, I don't think Steve's done yet. And bring your lunch.

No need for a line--there's plenty of room. I don't intend to get
caught up in your jousts with Steve.

Steve who?

There's an emotional wreck rambling around in here with the
rank of credentialed gunnery nurse. :-)

I educated you with respect to operating amateur radio in a location
without a government.

No, you did no such thing. You did, however reveal yourself to be quite
naive in such matters.

Brian was wrong only in that it is Impossible to tell an olde-tyme
hamme knowitall anything... :-)

You have a reputation for working out-of-banders.

Actually, that is another deliberately false statement. You are the
party who has made such statements.

Tsk. Denial of what all readers could see in here.

Often people volunteer what their amateur "status"
is, such as "I'm a Novice."

I don't believe I've ever had a QSO where someone blurts out, "I'm a
Novice".

Do you ever deign to work lowly non-extras, your lordship?

That is another decent clue.

No, it isn't.

You are without a clue? :-)

Tsk.

That isn't likely. They make their living from printing. :-) :-)

Tsk, tsk. Those companies make their living manufacturing and selling
amateur radio equipment. That isn't making a career of DXing. :-) :-)

Ask "William".

Writing a book, Foghorn? Make it a mystery and leave this chapter out.
