Your story changes from month-to-month and year-to-year. Sometimes you
have no interest in obtaining an amateur radio license. At other times
you've indicated a decades-long interest in amateur radio. It can't be
both ways.


Sure it can, Dave. A person can "have an interest" in something, yet not want
to become part of that group. For example, I have a decades-long interest in
sexy women, but I have never desired to become one!

There's also the case of the person whose interest in something consists of
wanting to destroy it. Such a person will often deny that goal.
