Check part 97, it only bans indecent and obscene speech. Nothing about
vulgarity or profanity. The ARRL publication of the FCC rules cites past
FCC cases and opinions as to what constitutes indecent or obscene speech.
To summarize very briefly, it is considered obscene or indecent when terms
widely considered to be offensive are used to describe sexual
activity/organs or excretory activity.


You can say any words except for George Carlin's list
of "7 dirty words you can't say on TV". Bad taste isn't
illegal, just not good. Some people never made it out of
junior high school in their minds.....

THey did come dangerously close to spelling out the
F word on terrestrial broadcast TV on "Saturday Night
Live"....
