I just passed all exams (up through Extra) this past weekend, and my paperwork was submitted to the FCC. After checking the FCC database, I see that I have been issued a Technician license and callsign. I'm surprised it was issued so quickly, but more surprised that a Tech license/call was issued instead of Amateur Extra. Should I call the FCC # on the CSCE form or wait a few days and see if it gets "fixed" in the database? I wanted to say thanks to all who responded and to provide an update in case anyone else has a similar problem. My VEC contacted the ARRL VEC office and they corrected the error. A new Amateur Extra callsign was issued along with the status change, and presumably a new operator's license certificate will arrive in the mail. |
