Saw this radio today. Is this set rare, any idea of what they sell for?
They are somewhat scarce, but not extremely rare. I believe it's much the same as the wartime Scott RBO, which was an entertainment receiver for the Navy. Because it was designed for shipboard use, it had extra shielding to prevent the enemy from locating it. (This made it heavy!) You can find a little more info if you search the archives of rec.antiques.radio+phono and rec.radio.amateur.boatanchors for "Scott SLR" and "Scott RBO." http://groups.google.com/group/rec.r...s/topics?hl=en http://groups.google.com/group/rec.a...o/topics?hl=en Of course, you can also search on Google.
