"BH 340" begins work in support of Shuttle landing
`````````````````````````````````````````````````` It is Thurs, 2:43am EDT (0643z). USN NP-3D #150522 "BH 340" of the Pt Mugu VX-30 "Bloodhounds" has been at Patrick for several days waiting to assume his duties for the Space Shuttle STS-115 landing. Moments ago he departed Patrick AFB and is headed to an orbit at FL220. At the moment he is up with ATC on 132.45. This acft is "Cast Glance" equipped. Cast Glance is a system of stabilized high-power optics used in range surveillance and data collecting. I will be trying to snag his mission freq for this landing and will pass it along as soon as I hear him. The NASA weather plane has been up already; heard him on 126.65 with Weather Com. He orbited around the Shuttle Landing Facility here, and announced fine weather conditions for the landing.
