Maybe so, I suppose the same thing can be said of just about everything.
Its about the only game in town if you want to listen to digital systems,
so the price is likely to remain unchanged until there is some competition.
Even then, the competition is likely to have similarly priced units, so I
wouldn't look for the price to drop any further any time soon.

I just went out and got one last night, I live in the suburbs of Detroit
and DPD went digital months ago.
I was at a mall and noticed it on sale, I was thinking about getting one,
but decided to think it over further and left ... Went to another RS closer
to my house, and this $$$ was just burning a hole in my pocket so I said I
wanted one.
Didn't see the sale sign here so I told them I was just at another RS store
5 miles away and it was on sale, they said oh no, it certainly is not. I
said look, I wasn't imagining this, it was priced at $379 and it was the
digital pro 2096, on sale clear as day.
They said I must be mistaken, there is no way an item could be on sale at
one store and not another so I said fine, I'll go back to the other store.
I did, the manager there said the other guys must have missed the memo to
put it on sale, and thus anyone who bought one at the other store that week
over paid by more than $100.
To rub it in a bit, I drove back to the other store, receipt in hand and
showed them, which finally made believers out of them.

Listened to it for about 2 hours, pretty much programmed out of the box, I
don't plan on doing much manual programming but rather will get that win96
software, or whatever thats called.

The LCD mysteriously went blank after 2 hours. Scanner locked up on a data
channel, I pushed the lock out button, and the LCD went blank, is still lit
but no numbers, letters anything.
[Does anyone know if there is a way you can actually do this if you wanted
to] ?
Tried reset multiple times, still blank. Still scans and recieves, but
apparently the LCD is defective, so I'll have to take it back for a new one
this weekend after the holiday rush.
