Help With Squelch on Pro 2001

Hi: My squelch circuit is shot. All I get is white noise no matter
what position the squelch is in. It is on a Realistic Pro 2001 scanner
and quite old but worked fine before this. Any idea on how to fix
myself. I tried tuner cleaner to no avail. nick
