I had the A/C plug short mine out once and lost memory.This happened when
the radio was moved and the cord stretched slightly.

The parts list shows a 0.47 Farad 5.5 volt supercap and that is almost
certainly for memory backup. It might need to be replaced or the circuit
that charges it up could be bad. You'll probably need a service manual to
get into it much deeper.
