Default rebroadcast scanner audio over internet laws

I see a bunch of sites that rebroadcast scanner audio from the city they
live in.
I wonder if this is actually legal to do?
The law states that the communications you hear are only intended for the
listening party and the contents may not be divulged.

How is it that so many people broadcast live scanner audio?
I ask because I'd like to do the same but it seems as though it is illegal
to do so.

Can anyone give me the facts on this?

Thanks Much!

Check with the FCC. I know many people do it, but the way I read it, it may
not be legal.

I think I may do as you suggested.

I'm also going to check into what Never anonymous Bud mentioned as well.

The law was changed (inadvertently) some years ago.
Search for the decision in the appeal of the US vs. Larry Gass in
Oklahoma.

Thanks Everyone
Ralph

Ralphy buddy, nothing to worry about.

Numerous agencies across the US/Canada/and Int'l are doing this. Check out
the previous posts.
