Not a lot of traffic today, but probably more than I heard with my limited antenna array. Slowly getting my antennas back up, now that the Hurricane Season has passed. Interesting propagation in the evening; ATC ground stations heard from afar on Mil UHF freqs. David will explain the relevant phenomena. BOLT 22: KC-135R, MacDill AFB 6AMW 1:34am: Inbound MacDill. [311.0] OMAHA 55K: CE-550 (N1255K) #550-0505, BICE 2:04am: Comms with Hammer: "We are 10-8, RTB to Ramrod." This was when he was airborne after forcing down a target acft at Vero Beach. I heard his surveillance of the target from Ft Myers on Florida's west coast (beginning at 10:55pm Tues), and then across the state. By the time he forced the tgt to land he was in need of fueling himself. Pilot reconfirms freq as "Blue 1." [282.425] NASA 909: T-38N #65-10351, Johnson Space Ctr, Houston 8:45am: Departs NASA-KSC Shuttle Landing Facility. 12:30pm: Approaching SLF. [128.55, 124.8, 134.0] NOTE: The astronaut that often flies NASA 909 pronounces the callsign "Nine-Owe-Nine," which sounds like "Niner Nine." This accounts for why some monitors log the acft as NASA 99. ROMAN 11: F/A-18, Oceana NAS VFA-106 "Gladiators" 9:20am: Area transition. Probably some of the horde of Gladiators that flew from Oceana to NAS Key West days ago, or maybe a straggler. CG 6003: HH-60J, CGAS-Clearwater 9:49am: Arrives CG Sta Canaveral to work hoisting ops with boat; passes position 28-36 North, 80-34 West. 12:01pm: Lands Patrick. 2:18pm: Departs Patrick [156.6, 157.15, 133.75] CG VESSEL 47301: CG Sta Canaveral 10:05am: Wkg w CG 6003. [157.15] WINDRIDER 65 (Unk if Mil or commercial flight) 10:15am: Area transition. [133.475] CG 6523: HH-65, CGAS-Savannah. 10:22am: Position 28-28 North, 80-31 West; wl work with CG 6003, CG Ves 47301; informs CG Sta Ponce Inlet who held guard.
