Although the resistor change in the original mod can improve performance, it
has been found that the addition of a diode across the 470K resistor
eliminates the squelch tail while retaining the hysteresis. Uniden has added
this diode to the PRO-2052 and indications are that it will be part of the
BC780 squelch circuit. The diode mod is recommended over the resistor mod
unless you want to reduce the squelch hysteresis. A diagram has been added
to show how to apply the diode mod to the PRO-2048.

Hey, follow scanners. I am in need of diagrams, schematics or
web sites that have info on the Radio Shack PRO-2048.

I am looking for discriminator circuits
Squelch tail in improvements
Speeding up searches
Increasing bank storage size (I know dream on)
Computer interface mods

or anything else!!!!

(Please note: I DO NOT WANT CELLULAR FREQUENCY restoration)
Listening to people on cells is WAY to boring and illegal.

Thanks for any assistance.

Peace
