I was having problems with my new News Provider. Apparently they limit the
size of posts, which I was unaware of... It should be up their now. If
it's not there, it will be shortly. I'll find a way to get it up there...

Yes, I can access that group --- I just looked and didn't see any posts by
you, there's only around 4 messages total...
Or are you waiting beofre you upload them? I would appreciate it.

There are three programs that I aware of that can do speech inversion
through your computers sound card. I see that you have already found

one
of
them though an online link. If you have access to
alt.binaries.radio-scanner, I will upload all three of those files to

that
group... Most likely one of them you already have, if "invert.exe" is

the
same as the one I have by that name...

Is there an internet utility or some such that will revert inverted

speech?
Or what's the procedure for that?

NFM... Some use Speech Inversion scrabbling for "privacy".

Do FRS/GMRS radios use wfm, nfm, or other scannable, non-digital
modulation
modes?
All I can find on the fcc site is power level restrictions and

whether
or
not you can have a detachable antenna.

tom March 1st 05 11:19 PM

Just checked, couldn't see any.
By the way, can you see only 3 posts in that group? My newsreader (outlook)
only shows 3 posts total in "alt.binaries.radio-scanner". Maybe that's
because it's set to ignore ones that are older than a certain length of
time, I don't know.

NFM. Antenna cannot be detachable for GMRS radios.

That's not true. I have a pair of these that have detachable antennas:

http://www.icomamerica.com/products/frs/f21gm/

I suspect the regulation is that a radio that is FRS only cannot have a
detachable antenna, though I'm not sure. Nevertheless, I know there are
GMRS radios with detachable antennas. :)

For GMRS and FRS rules, see:
http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/per...generalmobile/

"If you operate a radio that has been approved exclusively under the
rules that apply to FRS, you are not required to have a license. FRS
radios have a maximum power of =BD watt (500 milliwatt) effective
radiated power and integral (non-detachable) antennas. If you operate a
radio under the rules that apply to GMRS, you must have a GMRS license.
GMRS radios generally transmit at higher power levels (1 to 5 watts is
typical) and may have detachable antennas. The current fee for a new
GMRS license is $80."
