oups.com: i have an old uniden bearcat scanner with 50 channels and i have a hard time keeping up with what i have (i have to write it all down on a piece of paper) a 1000 channel model would drive me nutz i think. what do ppl do with all of them? Put different kinds of things in each of the banks. My old AR1500 has 10 banks of 100 frequencies each. An example. In the last few days, Melbourne (Aus) has hosted a Formula 1 grand prix: I had a bank of about 90 possible driver/team frequencies. Another had a smaller set of known confirmed frequencies. Another had media frequencies. Another had the local V8 supercar driver frequencies. Another had track (eg race control / cranes /trucks) frequencies. Another had air frequencies (eg the aerobatic Roulettes) Another had a single frequency for the local TV Another had a single frequency for a driver that I wanted to keep an eye on, but interference kept me from putting it in with the main bunch. You get the idea. With the sets separated in this way, its a single button push to change the type of thing I'm listening to at any given moment. If they were just in 1 huge pool of 1000, then it'd be useless, but they arent isnt, so it isnt. ![]() |
