All the changes are cosmetic however. Some of the buttons on the keyboard have been moved around and colorized and the case is light gray as opposed to black. It's still got the same ol' crummy GRE innards though. Jeff Seale Louisville, KY |

Some of the buttons on the keyboard have been moved around and colorized and the case is light gray as opposed to black. If, in fact, you're referring to the PRO-97, the changes are far from cosmetic: * LTR trunking added * CTCSS/DCS added * 150 talk groups/bank vs. 100 * "Signal Stalker" added * Added NWS FIPS/SAME mode * Step sizes for various frequency ranges changed (e.g. 8.333 kHz between 108 and 137 MHz). * Added 225-406 MHz * Increased sensitivity in 216-225 MHz |

Yea, I've got 2 43's, 2 34's, and 2 60's, not to mention several others BUT
having alpha tags would be great. I have others with alpha/computer capabilties so I guess I don't need a 95... "Herb Greene" wrote in message ... Ahh, if it only got the mil-air band... The reason I keep my PRO-43 going!! |

Geez, that's not much of a close-out price, though. I bought mine on sale
for $149 a couple of years ago. At half that price, they'd be a reasonable close-out deal. "Bill Crocker" wrote in message ... Radio Shack is discontinuing the PRO-95 (GRE Mfg), Cat. #20-525 Hand-Held Scanner @ $129.99! |

Keeping things in perspective, the price of the PRO-95 has gradually been
lowered over it's lifetime. As I recall, when it was first introduced, it was around $300.00. It's a lot of scanner for $129.99. Bill Crocker "DougSlug" wrote in message ...
