I would like to set up at my house a scanner receiver so that my elderly dad can listen via internet (just like all the other streaming scanner audio sites) to the broadcasts. Could someone please advise what equipment I need to do this and how? I have the scanner receiver, the Windows XP home computer, and broadband connection. good luck with streaming but if it turns out to be too difficult another option might be to record the scanning you do with scanrec: http://www.davee.com/scanrec/ and then convert your recordings to mp3 and upload them to a site where your Dad can download them and play them at his liesure. One of the good things about scanrec is it can cut out all the silence/low noise and only record proper signals, thus your Dad wouldn't have to listen to any long periods of silence. |
