Default "Data Skip" Featu Enable It All Of The Time For Everything ?

Hello:

Have a new 996, but imagine other scanners have this feature also.

Regarding "Data Skip", where the scanner will automatically
skip channels that it identifies as a data stream, or noise, rather than
voice.

e.g., channels with either no audio, or possibly a constant level audio.

Seems to me there is no reason not to have it on all of the time, for all
Systems, and everything.

Are there any Systems, modes, situations, etc. where having it Enabled
would not be a good idea ?

The Default setting is, surprisingly, OFF, which I guess implies having it
on for
everything maybe isn't such a great idea ?

Thanks,
B.

It's better to cross-post to multiple groups than it is to single post in
each... Multiposting creates only ONE message, readable in all listed
groups. Single posting creates the exact number or messages as the number
of groups you post in. Saves time and space by cross-posting...
