I'm afraid camping out 20 miles from WWVA might make catching the little signals very difficult. I am only newbie at this so I was hoping I might catch the ear of an expert. Yeah, I understand. Just seeing WWVA brought back memories! If I were you I would go further south thru the mountains also. If you stay on the Interstates it won't be too hard on your vehicle, but the West Virginia backroads are absolutely notorious for killing front end alignments and shocks. Mike Thanks for helping out her if I could just run this by you one more time. I am having a difficult time to make up my mind - but you were the first to respond with some good advice. I agree I think the southerly route would be quite a bit better for picking out some nice low power stations. On the other hand I am more worried about the hills taking a toll on the motor and tranny than the front end. I would think some of those hills may be fairly large and long. Exact route would be down 81 from Chambersburg, PA. Stopovers at Natural Bridge, VA. Boone, NC, and Barbourville, KY before heading into illinois. Can you comment on this route? regards, NEO |
