Check out the Ramsey stuff as they are fun to build, don't know if they are the top of the line receivers but heck you can get an education on how the things work. http://www.google.com sw radio schematic = tons of stuff """"""""""""""""'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''' If you mainly want to learn electronics, you could go to ebay (shortwave radio) and look for a used Heathkit receiver with the manual. You could then dismantle it in the correct order, learning about each component and module as you go. Then, using the manual, you could reassemble it in order. This would give you an education in radio for very little money, and if you got it back together , you would have a pretty good radio. |
