Default Need Help - Memory Preset Problem with DT-200VX or DT220V - Thanks

Hi,

I just purchased a Sangean DT-200VX from C. Crane and am very very
pleased with its performance and features. Nicely done! I really
like it a lot but I have a bit of a dallima.

Having set up a number of stations in various memory locations, I
realize now that there are a couple of presets I need to erase. I
know it is possible to overwrite a preset with a new station but I
don't have a new stations to replace the presets I want to get rid of
and don't want to keep wading thru unwanted presets unnecessarily. So
how can I erase or remove a entry (station) from a particular preset
location?

Worst case I could live with wiping out all memory presets (not what I
want to do) and then start over. However, I took the batteries out of
the radio for over 12 hours and it still kept all the presets nicely
in place. Only the clock went screwy.

So anybody know how to wipe out (erase) presets on a DT-200VX or maybe
a DT-200V?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rick

Sangean DT-200VX "Pocket" Radio
http://sangean.com/product.php?model=DT-200VX
DT-200VX "Pocket" Radio Features :
PLL Synthesized tuning system.
Built-in speaker.
Built-in clock.
* 19 Random Pre-Sets.
90 minute auto shutoff.
Battery power indicator.
Stereo / Mono / Speaker Switch.
My Favorite Selection.
Deep Bass Boost.
Removable Belt Clip.
Auto-seek station.

IMHO - Unless it has a USB Jack to allow Programming
of the Station Pre-Sets : Then the simplist method is to
Re-Stack-the-Deck by taking the next higher Pre-Set
[Station] and Copying it down to {Over} the un-needed
Pre-Set [Station] to compress the number of used
Pre-Sets from 19 to what ever. With only 19 Random
Pre-Sets - it ain't a lot of work ~ RHF

For the un-used Pre-Sets there is always 530 kHz
as the starting point of the AM/MW Radio Band and
87.5 MHz as the starting point of the FM Radio Band.

TIP - Write Down what you have set into the Radio
before you begin this next series of Re-Pre-Setting
Radio Stations back into your Radio. A Paper Copy
is always a good Audit Trail of What-You-Did and
answers the question How-Did-I-Get-Here-? some
time in the future.
