Default What KSL listeners had to say about HD Radio !

AM is fading away. It is used by older folks, mostly, and there are only
largely successful stations in one format area: talk. Talk is now moving

to
FM, and when the transition is over, there will be no mass appeal format

on
AM and no younger listeners.

ANALog AM listeners will disappear just like shortwave listeners - only
faster.

HD improves FM audio, adds a second program channel, and vastly improves

AM
Audio. Nearly every FM can benefit. Only a few AMs can, as only a few
have
decent signals.

Like I said before; don't expect a Calipornia public school drop-out to
understand any sense of logic.

This, of course, is a lie. As are your facts on AM in genera.

The same company started simulcasting KTAR (AM) on FM in Phoenix, and 6
months later, the news / talk format was only on FM.

(That is what "slowly moving" means... a lengthy transition to get people
used to the idea of finding the station on FM, not AM).

even
remotely similiar to logic.

Very funny.

1. I never went to school in Califonia.
2. I did not go to public school.

And you did not move to Mexico when you were 13.

3. I dropped out of the Colegio Americano in Quito to put my own radio
staiton on the air.
4. I was deans list for many semesters in college 10 years later when i did
my university studies part time while working.
5. Logic involves analyzing facts and drawing conclusions. Ams moving to FM
and becoming more successful indicates that more will do the same thing...
that is logic.

Yeah, that station where your name is not on the ownership papers and where you
signed QSL's as the 'General Manager'. Also signed as 'David F. Gleason'.

Oh, that's right, 'Eduardo' didn't show up until c.2000.

It sure does! That's how I discovered that you're a phoney baloney fake! I
analysed the facts and drew conclusions based upon those facts.

The fact is that Bonneville is slowly moving KSL to FM anyway.

No, they are just simulcasting - AM is going to stay.

AM radio used to work real well, until the Reagan FCC screwed it up.

The Reagan FCC did not do much of anything to AM. What did AM in was FM...
anyone under 45 has grown up in the era where more listening went to FM than
AM (currently 80% or more) and they are not used to AM, especially for
music. That is why nearly nobody under 45 uses AM... it sounds bad, is noisy
and unpleasant compared to FM, iPods, webcasts, CDs, etc.

Content matters more than delivery system.

LOL !

19 comments - shows no one cares about HD Radio and everyone knows it
is a ****ing joke:

http://www.alexaholic.com/hdradio.co...om+xmradio.com

And take a look at the HD Radio group that was just created via
google:

http://groups.google.com/group/hd-radio?hl=en

It has so far received a whopping two posts, neither of which received
so much as a single reply. Even I wouldn't have expected such numbing
indifference to discussion of HD radio. Furthermore, posts to RRS
about HD radio aren't even being cross posted to the HD Radio group,
which makes me suspect that the posts to RRS are just troll attempts
and nothing more.

Is ANYONE out there interested in HD radio?

Will never happen - KSL would lose too many listeners.

Why do you say that? When WTOP in Washington; DC, moved 100% from AM to FM,
the audience increased, especially in the sales friendly demographics under
age 55.

I'll let you know, when all 4,500 AM stations go dark - terrestrial
radio is dying and HD/IBLOCK will just accelerate its death.

Both matter. When news talk format are moved to FM or new "traditional" n/t
formats are put on FM, the 35-54 listening is much, much higher than an AM
with the same or comparable programming will get.

In other words, most people under a certain age will not listen to AM no
matter what is on it because the sound sucks and there is so much noise and
interference.
