A CBC News report at 10 pm stated that hundreds of fishing boats and a
Coast Guard vessel were caught in a giant pack ice field off the east
cost of Newfoundland. Although most marine communication is VHF ,
there may be some HF communications going on. I am out of range, but
maybe some closer could have a listen to Coast Guard and fish boat
frequencies.

Is this further evidence of global warming?
Ian.

Did you know that every glacier in North America is advancing? They
don't tell you that in the pc media. As warming continues, more
moisture is produced in the atmosphere. Historical records show that
warming and rising co2 levels always precede an ice age which comes
suddenly.
The fishboats are in quite a fix. They are trapped in the ice with
danger of sinking and they can't walk out because of the unstable pack
ice. I think there will be a lot of helicopter activity in the next
day or two. It should be interesting radio if you can find it.

Didn't they go up there to beat seals?- Hide quoted text -

Yup - Those at the top of the chain fishing for seals with clubs and
rifles. No worse or better than killing a cow, chicken, pig, dolphin
or fish for it's protein.- Hide quoted text -

Roadie - Killing to Eat and Live is One Thing.

Killing for a Baby Seal's Pure White Fur
to make Fur Coats is another.

hopefully you can understand the difference ~ RHF

What exactly is the difference. The animals are just as dead whether
you beat them with a club, shot 'em with a bullet, zap 'em or wring
their necks. And as I'm sure you know we make jackets from cow
leather much as we make coats from seal skin.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that the production line
processing of cows, pigs, horses, sheep, chickens, etc., is a neat
pleasant process. You should take the time to tour a slaughterhouse
(or the more pleasant sounding abattoir). It will likely to open your
eyes and empty your stomach. Indeed just look at how fish are hooked,
yanked up and gaffed and gutted.

You may also look at a feedlot or pig operation see how livestock
lives before being transformed into one of your requirements of life
like steak or baby-back ribs. Yuumm...serve me up a big platter of
bacon (smoked fried pig fat).

All I would need is an Airboat and a 22 Caliber Pump Rifle (which I
already own,[[Remington]] along with a bunch of other Shootin Irons) and
I could take out buku Seals.
