(see if you can find the book, read it,dig the pictures/photos) I have the soft back pocket book right here,I read it back in the 1970's.Winston Churchill, (his mom was an Ameican,ya know) the real Winston Churchill, really did put himself in harms way,on purpose,a bunch of times in World War Two.I have other books here about World War Two.World War Two is,and always has been,my favorite subject ever since I was a boy.Next favorites,Classic and Antique cars and trucks and motorcycles and old timey jalopy dirt track dare devil racing and rodeos and horse racing and greyhound dog racing. cuhulin You're right that he put himself in harm's way cuhulin. He also fought during the Second Boer War and at the Battle of Omdurman. But I think that ve3 is also right about him having at least one, and maybe two doubles during WW II. That what a lot of people say. But I don't know it for a fact. So I think, as far as I know, that you are both correct. Churchill was a very unique person, I think we all agree about that. I admired him greatly while growing up. I also admired John F. Kennedy when I was a young kid. But I don't have any admiration for his brother, Edward "Ted" Kennedy. I also liked Margaret Thatcher, and Ronald Reagan. I guess I can sit back now, and watch the slings and arrows headed my way. ;-) Cato Cato- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Greetings Spin: Take a look below. You will see how this whole thing started. Nope, right from the start it had nothing to do with shortwave radio. It started back on May 4, so you've missed a lot. Quite a few people involved in this thread. If you have no interest, you could try and ignore it. That's what I should have probably done. But being Canadian myself, it was really hard to ignore an insult. "Dumbass Canuck" seems to be the way to refer to Canadians. How would Americans feel if we started insulting the States, and Americans?? But Beerbarrel isn't all that bad. One of the real insulters is dxAce, who seems to have a real hatred of Canada, and Canadians. He tosses out insults and namecalling every time he has a chance. Nope... nothing to do with shortwave radio. But I never started it. Yep, I do love shortwave radios. I have a collection of them and love listening. That's why I am here. But I will not let people insult Canadians or Canada without a reply. As long as they are allowed to do that on this list, then myself, and other Canadians here, will stand up in defence of our country and nationality. I would expect Americans to do the same if I was to insult their nationality and their country. WINNIPEG, Manitoba (Reuters) -- Canada's postal system has stopped delivering mail to a home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after a mail carrier was scared away by a "very threatening cat," the Winnipeg Free Press said Friday. A Canada Post spokeswoman said the agency was concerned about the safety of its carriers, although it hoped for an amicable solution to its dispute with cat-owner John Samborski. "The letter carrier who delivers mail there ... was brought up on a farm, she is very comfortable with animals," spokeswoman Kathi Neal told the newspaper. "Apparently this is a very threatening cat." Samborski told the paper that his 8-year-old, declawed, black cat Shadow is docile, and it was "ridiculous" for Canada Post to make him to pick up his mail from a post office instead of delivering it to his door. Shadow "likes to eat and sleep and cuddle. You could drop a bomb and he'd just open one eye, take a look, then close them and go back to sleep," Samborski, 41, told the newspaper. |
