Greetings;
C. Crane sells a nice dynamo LED lantern for $50. I bought the earlier battery model and it worked nicely during the outages I've experienced. The dynamo one is even better since it can be charged by hand and the top part folds down for easier storage. I did notice one problem with DX. When my LED lantern was set on a lower setting to conserve the batteries, it interfered with AM and low shortwave frequencies. Apart from that, it makes a nice emergency light.
