(S3 preamp off, S5 on) Pop music, talk, definite ABC ID. Unsure whether this is Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, or Katherine, but per ABC website it sounds like it's probably Tennant Creek. The transmitter for 4910kHz is at Tennant Creek; the origin of the programming at that particular time will either be Darwin or Alice Springs, depending on which of the two programs that the shortwave transmitter takes. My guess is Alice Springs. Outback Australia seems like it was made for NVIS shortwave. -- ross Port Moresby "DOES"? Thought NBC had been off the air for ??? I dunno. I haven't been SWLing for a long time; just starting up again. I guess the tsunami permanently knocked it off the air? Sorry to hear it. I used to listen to that as a kid. |
