Default Upgrade from Sangean ATS 505 to Eton E5: Worth it?

KJ,

IMO, the E5 is worthy step up from the 505. I've owned them both. The
505 was so-so. Gave it to a friend in Kansas. The E5 might be the most
sensitve compact SW portable I've ever owned. And, I've noticed that
they're going for some pretty reasonable prices on eBay.

Good luck!

Mike

Given that my Sangean ATS 505 is several years old and gets middling
reviews, and given that the Eton E5 is a relatively new design that
has received good reviews, would it be worth it to upgrade to an E5 or
would I be better advised to save my money and get an Eton E1? I've
searched the newsgroup archives and have found no clear answer. Thanks
in advance for your advice.
