Channels 5 and 6 are *already occupied* by ATSC DTV channels. I routinely watch channel 6 out of Philadelphia, and you are NOT going to take it away from me. TV is more important than some fm station. (Besides the TV was there *first* and has a right to stay there.) - It's bad enough we lost UHF channels 51 and up. - Now you want the FCC to take away channels 5-6 too? - **** that idea. * Having Intercourse with an Idea -is- a Real Mind F*ck ! SFTV - Ever Heard of the Greater Good ? ~ RHF - Converting the old Analog TV Channels 5 and 6 over to an Expanded FM Radio Band {76-88 MHz} and having all the 'new' FM Broadcasters start out as 50% Analog/ 50% Digital would insure the transition to FM Digital Radio and help to clear-out the AM/MW Radio Band for a new Band Plan : Fewer Radio Stations; Wider Channel Spacing; More Uniform Power Output. A small loss for TV a Greater Good for FM Digital Radio Broadcasting and the Future of Over-the-Air Radio. SFTV -aka- "Hybrid Digital" Man We Need Your Support ! |
