* Their aim is reduce the Chip count, requiring just a
single Chip for all analog and digital tuning.

* The fewer Chips, the less cost not just for Chips
but supporting circuitry.

* HD Radio cannot become mainstream until Radios
featuring the Technology are available in every form.

These chips will make no difference, as consumers do not buy radios
anymore. Cell phones companies are not intereed in HD Radio, as Clear
Channel tried to stream its staion on Sprint but gave up. I was in a
Ford dealership today buying my boys a new car and the salesman got HD
Radio mixed up with Satellite Radio and the guy in charge of
installing HD radios had not installed a single one. They are however
very excited about Sync, as they have to get "certified" in it before
it comes out in 2008. Many of the Ford cars have factory-installed
Satellite Radio sitting on the lots. LOL!

Yup, Sprint and Samsung are deploying it across many major cities - it
is over for terrestrial and HD Radio! Ford's new Sync allows seamless
Internet Radio streamin in-dash - hear for yourselves:

No indication of HD Radio in the three Ford dealerships that I visited
- no installs of crappy dealer-installed HD radios! Ford has no demos

Right. I always go to the programmer of a station that has about a 0.7 share
for advice and opinion.

Yeah, but the listenership they get is probably extremely loyal and
also attractive to demographics.

Indie rock demos are usually 20s-30s no?

"Indie" is the station name, but it is simply a KROQ wannabe with a bit
broader list. It's a 25-39 play, mostly. But it ranks about 30th in the
market.

You might want to reconsider that practice. It might explain why so
much of what you say is stupid.

Considering that we have a cluster share of 16% of all listening in Los
Angeles in 25-54, and "Indie" has a 0.4%, I don't think we have any need of
their advice.
