I really find it amusing that you think that something that is to be proud
of is negative. I left Ecuador because I had joined with a newspaper to
become the voice of opposition to the military government, calling for a
return to democracy and free elections. I paid my consequences, but my
counterpart at the newspaper "disappeared" and was presumed killed by the
military.

Gee, you've certainly altered that story over time. Why am I not surprised?
