Six (6) Wire Rotor Cable Multi-Element 'Windom' Antenna
for Shortwave Radio Listening (SWL)

FWIW - This Shortwave Radio Listening (SWL) Antenna can be
constructed using the same Two 3-Wire Pieces of Flat Rotor
Cable the Longer piece 48.5 Feet and the Shorter piece 26.5
Feet as the Opposing Arms of a Windom Antenna.

Small-Short Six (6) Wire Rotor Cable Flat Wire Multi-Element
Antenna for Shortwave Radio Listening (SWL)

Note - the Ground Foot Print of the Shortwave Radio Listening
(SWL) Antenna increases from 50 Feet to 75 Feet along the
surface of the Ground.

Plus a Dipole type 4:1 Matching Transformer {Balun} is used
between the Opposing Arms of a Windom Antenna; instead
of the Longwire type 9:1 Matching Transformer {UnUn - MLB}.

Route the Longer 3 of the Individual Wires through one of the
Holes of a Plastic Compression Antenna Insulator.

About 6-Inches Wires should be sticking out Through-the-Hole.

Fold-back these Through-Wires on to the Main Body of the
Longer Wire Piece and Secure with 3~5 Plastic Wire Ties
around all 6 of the Wires; the 3-Through Wires and the 3-Main
Wires for the Longer piece.

Use a second Plastic Compression Antenna Insulator
at the Far-End of the Longer 48.5 Feet Piece of 3-Wire
Rotor Cable and Secure with 3~5 Plastic Wire Ties.

Route the Shorter 3 of the Individual Wires through the 'other'
Hole of a Plastic Compression Antenna Insulator.

Use a third Plastic Compression Antenna Insulator
at the Far-End of the Shorter 26.5 Feet Piece of 3-Wire
Rotor Cable and Secure with 3~5 Plastic Wire Ties.

Rig Nylon/Poly Ropes through the Un-used Holes of the
End Insulators; and both Holes of the Center Insulator.

Solder all of the Individual Wires of the two Pieces of Rotor
Cable together 3- Long together and 3-Short together

Connect a 4:1 Matching Transformer (MLB) to these
two sets of 'joined' Wires : 3- Short ones to one Matching
Transformer Connection and 3- Short ones to the 'other'
Matching Transformer Connections.

Connect the Coax Cable to the SO-239 Jack of the 4:1
Matching Transformer.

The Coax Cable is run/routed up to {near} the elevated Off-
Center Support of the Windom Antenna {Off-Center Dipole}.

Your still have the basic Six (6) Wire Multi-Element Antenna
for Shortwave Radio Listening (SWL) -but- with a slightly
bigger Signal Capture Area.

The 4:1 Matching Transformer is elevated in the Air near the
Apex of the Windom Antenna {Off-Center Dipole}.

The Ends of the Arms of the Windom Antenna {Off-Center
Dipole} can be Rigged 'Flat" -or- 'may-be' lower that the
Center. 30 Degrees Off the Horizontal or 120 Degrees
between the Arms is good.

Windom Antenna {Off-Center Dipole} Wire Elements

25 Feet ~ 31m SW Band -/- 48 Feet ~ 60m SW Band
o-------------SoL--------------------------o
20 Feet ~ 25m SW Band -/- 39 Feet ~ 49m SW Band
o------------SoL----------------------o
17 Feet ~ 22m SW Band -/- 32 Feet ~ 41m SW Band
'S' - Shorter Wire Elements 'connected' to one side of the
4:1 Matching Transfromer.
'L' - Longer Wire Elements 'connected' to the 'other' side
of the 4:1 Matching Transfromer.
'o' - Center and End Insulators

Rig your Six (6) Wire Rotor Cable Windom Antenna
{Off-Center Dipole} Antenna as a :
* Horizontal Flat Windom Antenna using the Radio
Shack's Ground via the Coax Cable.
* Off-Center-Fed Inverted "V" Antenna set at 120 Degrees
using the Radio Shack's Ground via the Coax Cable.
