I'm wondering what the tuning resolution is though. I hope it's better than the SAT 800's 50 Hz. The display appears to resolve only 1khz which isn't enough for ssb. It could be that there's fine tuning available that simply isn't reflected on the display. Sure hope so. 100hz would be a minimum. 100 Hz would be a disaster IMO for SSB. If you look at the pictures carefully, you'll see in the lower left corner of the fascia, a variable pitch BFO control. Zero beat is possible without single Hz resolution. |
