Default FS: ICOM IC-R75 HF+50 MHz All Mode Communications Receiver

Hi folks. I must say farewell to the following almost brand-new unit. Please
see the link for more information:

Toronto, Ontario - $650 OBO

http://toronto.craigslist.ca/tor/ele/569227097.html

This receiver was purchased new in October 2007 from RadioWorld in Toronto,
is in perfect condition and has never left my home. The1 year warranty is
still valid, and has 8 months remaining.

The IC-R75 covers a frequency range that's wider than other HF receivers;
0.03-60.000000 MHz. This wide frequency coverage allows you to listen to a
variety of communications including marine communications, amateur radio,
short wave radio broadcasts and more. The specs are as follows:

.. Ships with the UT-106 DSP unit installed.
.. Coverage: 0.03 - 60 MHz
.. Modes: AM, S-AM, FM, USB, LSB, CW, RTTY
.. Pull out the weak signals: The IC-R75 sports cutting edge technology for
today's serious DX'er, yet it is easy and affordable enough for casual
listener use.
.. PC programmable: Get PC control of the IC-R75 with optional RS-R75
software on CD ROM. Runs on Windows 95; or Windows 98 and comes with the
necessary connection cable.
.. DSP (Digital Signal Processing): This IC-R75 has the optional UT-106 DSP
plug-in module allowing AF-DSP. It offers noise reduction, and auto notch
filter capabilities.
.. Multiple scan modes: 5 Scan Modes are available: program scan, memory
scan, select memory scan, priority scan and auto memory write scan.
.. Optional filter slots: Two optional filter slots are available - one each
for 1st IF (9 MHz stage) and 2nd IF (455 kHz stage).
.. Superior receive: With its superior dynamic range of 104 dB, twin
passband tuning (PBT) controls, and a large front mounted speaker, the
IC-R75 offers unparalleled receive quality.
.. Easy to use: IC-R75's large, backlit, 8 character alphanumeric LCD display
is easily readable in low light conditions, and at all viewing angles. The
numeric keypad offers direct frequency or memory channel input.

Additional features:

.. Selectable RF gain/squelch control
.. Attenuator
.. 1 Hz tuning resolution
.. 2 level preamp
.. Selectable AGC
.. Three timer functions: sleep, power OFF, power ON
.. Noise blanker
.. Single touch controls
.. 12 V DC Power (120 V AC adapter included)
.. Voice synthesizer (optional)
.. 99 memory channels plus 2 scan edges
.. Triple conversion superheterodyne receiver
.. Synchronous AM detection (S-AM)

Is that $CDN?

I paid $200 (Murrican) less for mine, w/UT-106 DSP module in separate box.

I don't want to nit-pick, but this is not strictly accurate. While it
offers wide coverage, the receiver is only guaranteed to work 0.1-29.99
and 50-54 MHz. Selectivity and sensitivity outside of those ranges may
not be what you hope for.

Also, marine communications tend to be well outside of this extended
range much further into VHF. 156-162 MHz is where most of those channels
live. Even air traffic stuff starts somewhere around 108 MHz.

Looks like a fine receiver, however.
