It was a lot more challenging, rewarding and profitable to own and run a #1 radio station than to take woodshop or algebra. Perhaps if you'd really understood woodshop or algebra you'd appreciate them more. I had algebra in 7th grade. I taught myself more advanced math in Ecuador to be able to design transmitters, diplexers and directional antennas. It was no big deal. You didn't learn your lessons well. No one who understands mathematics fails to appreciate its beauty and its power. They certainly won't describe it as "no big deal". There is no reason to be bored in HS if there is something else you can do that is of more value. There is no reason to be bored in HS, period. But if you fail high school, you move on to whatever else is there. Again, I was doing absolutely fine grade wise. But it was boring and rote. Again, that is entirely a reflection on you, and only you. |
