That lie is one that Bush haters keep on spewing against all evidence.
It cost Dan Rather his job at CBS. He devoutly believed that lie too,
but he never could prove it and was caught using forged documents in an
attempt to influence the presidential election.

It must be terrible to have your hate eating your guts out day after
day. That ailment cost Rather his job and his reputation when
everything was finally said and done.
