I got my S-38C for $50 recapped and everything! I repainted the case,
lettered it and it works great! This is a real ripoff.

It's up to $233.06 now. The completed auction listings show another clean
one going for $104. A few other S-38s sold for the usual prices.

A radio that drifts shouldn't cost that much.

Could be it was bought for nostalgia value and not for performance.

I have that clone: a fully mint HE-10. It is a lot better than my
S-38C, having nine tubes, an S meter, IF gain control and a lot more
stable. It just looks like the big brother of the S-38!
