Does that go for the R8 as well? Isn't the R8B a lot better radio?
"Joe Analssandrini" wrote in message ... Dear Dave, If it is in excellent+ condition as you indicate, it's worth plenty, maybe even more than you paid for it. But it is my firm opinion that it would be a mistake to sell it. You won't get "rich" from the sale of this radio and, in just a couple of years I suspect that you'll REALLY regret having sold it. Do yourself a favor - pack it away temporarily and, in a year or two, take it out and reacquaint yourself with it. I suspect that, at that time, you may really appreciate what you have. Remember too that most of the few newly introduced tabletop radios are selling in the five figures or close enough to it and these, for all practical purposes, won't outperform your Drake. Keep this radio. I think you won't regret it. and maybe someday you'll even thank me for this advice. Forget what the other posters wrote and sell me your Drake R8B. The only condition is that you stop posting in this news group. What's your price? -- Telamon Ventura, California |

Hello
I have a Drake r8b and I would not mind to sell it. Why? Listening strong and medium stations its great and listening to the music it is wonderful. But the problem starts when listening weak signal, I cannot understand a single word because the audio it is too bassy and words sound almost distorted. So, I cannot do DX. I have tried with different headphones and the tone control fully clockwise with no results. Maybe I would need a speaker that can put out the highs, a Kenwood sp-31 or similar. I have read that audio filter could solve the problem, Datong FL3 or a timewave device could help. Yes, I sent it to Drake R.L. in orderto have it aligned, checked sensitivity and voltage levels........... and it works perfectly. I will wait until next year since AOR it is going to release its AR7070 DSP. Thank you very much, any comments are very wellcomed. |
