The Problem With Hybrid Digital

The problem with hybrid digital is that there is nothing wrong with standard AM and FM transmission modes. In fact, they have evolved to the point where they sound quite good even with marginal signal strengths. They are robust and have significant coverage areas with simple receivers. What else could you want? The public is completely satisfied with the current system and, in fact, don't know or care about hybrid digital as a means of transmission. *Don't believe it? Ask any person on the street who listens to radio regularly. *They could care less even if they've heard about "HD" radio. HD is such a meaningless term anyway. Could someone please explain to me what "digital ready" headphones are? *Struble, maybe you could help me out here. I agree with you Burns. Hey- if this technology was indeed better I would be all for it. I don't listen to FM radio so I can't speak intelligiently on that matter but for AM as you stated- the AM signal is 'robust' and definitely pleasing to my ear. I had a feeling when all the HD crap for radio came out that it was all a sham but I gave Edtardo the benefit of a doubt..........but at least speaking for AM - the regular amplitude modulation is suffice with me. :-) |
