MW Ultralight Receiver Logging
I don't know if any of you are into this fairly new aspect of the
radio hobby-Ultralight DXing.. These little receivers are the size that can fit in a shirt pocket. Some of these radios are amazing in what they're capable of receiving. On 9/22/09 on 730 khz, I was amazed ro hear an ID for WPIT, Pittsburgh, PA for a mere 4 minutes. This reception was from 0556-0600 UTC with religious programming. Their night power is listed at only 24 watts. I hrd them on both an Eton E-100 and a Sony SRF-59. The nulling capababilty of some of the better ultralights is amazing. If anyone here enjoys MW DX'ing, I highly recommend checking out thus ultralighting thing. It's a lot of fun. Folks on both coasts have logged many TA's and TP's. Since I'm landlocked here in Oklahoma, it would take some very exceptional conditions to be so lucky. If this sound interesting to you, you will want to check out this website for starters: http://www.dxer.ca/ 73 and good DX to ya! Kirk Allen Ponca City, OK JRC NRD-515, Eton E-100, Sony SRF-59, Realistic SW-100 Select-a-Tenna for MW and some wire that's a sorry excuse for a SW antenna, hi hi |

Great buy at that price though.
