I expect that it is now a forgone conclusion. From my experience and
that of others trying to get Google to pull their funding of BPL, no
ham or SWL will bother to do anything about it.

If anything, the hams I had contact with had no desire to email
Google, or give up using them. The owner of one popular ham radio
site told me that his site only existed because of the income from
Google ads, and that since Google was an Internet company and BPL was
an Internet technology not a radio technology, it was none of his
concern.

Considering the fact that in the US, there will be no elections for
two years, the only way to stop this is to stop patronizing IBM. The
only way that will happen is if all hams and SWL's get together and
stop buying things from companies that use IBM computers. IMHO the
chance of either is nonexistant.

IBM long ago sold off their PC and printer divisions, so there is no
value in boycotting them. I'm not even sure they sell retail products
anymore.

There is this little gem near the bottom of the article.

"International Broadband has had help along the way from the federal
government: Lee said the company has received $70 million in
low-interest loans from the Department of Agriculture."

The commentary by some clown at IBM is pretty funny.

"The key innovation introduced in the past few years, Blair said, is
the ability to remotely control the devices fixed to power lines. That
way it can be told to switch frequency when it meets interference."

Someone needs to tell this idiot it is broadband noise and even of you
could switch to different frequency bands how the hell would they know
who was being interfered with? Just change the frequency band and
bother someone else. What a great idea.
