make sense on the FM Radio Band.

AM & FM are Two Different Radio Bands with
Two Different Sets of Technical Parameters.

The Future of FM Radio is Two Fold :
* FM HD-Radio + HD2 Channels
* An Expanded FM HD-Radio Band {76~88 MHx}
You live in the boonies. FM IBOC takes up 3 analog channels. We don't
have that much space on the dial here in the big cities. The smaller
stations get wiped off the face of the dial.
