Did you know part of Long Beach,California is below Sea Level? I have
known that for years.
There is a Long Beach,Mississippi too, but mostly the big worries there
would be if a Hurricane is headin thataway.

We worry more Tsunami than hurricanes. A lot of the west side is right
at sea level. Occasionally a high tide will swamp the neighborhoods by
the beach. The sea level rise associated with global warming will do
billions in damage here.

Parts of the area in CA from La Quinta through Indio, Coachella, and around
the Salton Sea are at or below sea level. It's amusing to see my GPS showing
below sea level readings. Like being at the Dead Sea.

I am about 281 feet above Sea level.Even the Easter Flood of 1979 didn't
flood my yard and house.Heh, those politicians around here asked for and
got a lot of money to study flood control and for some new Levees along
the Pearl River next to Jackson. They stold that money. They haven't done
zip sh.t about flood control for Jackson and the suburb Cities around
Jackson. There is a lot of new construction projects along that streatch
of the Pearl River and more to come too. There will be another Jackson
flood someday. They will be hollering for lots of more money too, so they
can steal that money.
Highy n Dry, that's the way I like it.

I'm currently 12 feet above sea level. If I go downstairs I'll only be
about 2 feet above.

You should probably think about moving pretty soon.

If you move, be sure you move somewhere so you can judge those bikinis.
When does bikini judging season start over there?

My first pirate (WLBM 1530) was there in the early 60s, used a rooftop
two turn loop around the eaves, had an FM station on an "S" shaped
folded dipole but never settled on a constant frequency and was on the
verge of airing a pirate TV ch2 when I became a hippie instead. We used
to hang out at the Merry Mansion over by Cowan Rd before Camille got it.

That's a pretty good pirate story there.
