Ford was largely responsible for expanding the German industrial base which was instrumental in Hitler's war effort. Ford was looking for cheaper labor, but those plants were quickly converted to roll out tanks. Lindbergh was a paid consultant to the Germans, helping them set up the Luftwaffe. He was enamored by their Spartan-like military discipline. I challenge anyone to show how any left-wing groups had anything to do in supporting Hitler. The American industrialists were helping rebuild a Germany recovering from WW1. Not satisfied with that Hitler derailed that whole process of nation rebuilding into building an army in an expansionist move not unlike what happened to us with Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The Germans were able to prosecute the war as they saw fit because we as a nation did not stop them once Hitlers war plans were put in motion. We almost waited to long to win that war and many more American soldiers died because of that and europe paid a heavy price. I just watched Defiance and I highly recommend it. -- Telamon Ventura, California |
