I work with a lot of 20 to 30 year olds and many of them have a severe
hearing loss, listening to their car stereos is nearly torture for
anyone who can hear normally, they almost all have a huge boost on the
top end. It sounds horrible, but they think it's great. My one friend is
deaf from jet engine noise, but he's 60 years old, not 23. By the time
these kids are 50-60 they will be stone deaf.
