Yet most of the talk going on here seems to be completely unrelated to
short wave radio and much more about right wing politics. If I wanted
to hear about how Obama is Marx re-incarnate or how Sarah Palin is the
second coming of Christ, I wouldn't be reading this newsgroup, I'd be
watching Fox News. Seriously. What's up with all the politics?

I have to agree with you. I was somewhat guilty of
it before the election because I was tired of hearing
all the Bush Whacking going on for years.

Of course I knew Obama was going to win and throughout his entire term
everything was STILL
going to be blamed on Bush.

I'm pretty much out of the politics talk unless it is
about Israel. But I do agree with you.

Correct you are. It's really unreadable due to the politics and

Also, Bush started both the Afghan and Iraq wars.

Obama, in his few months on the job only INHERITED the Depression and
the two wars from Bush...so, yes, we *DO* blame Bush.

Well, if -you- claim to know this, then it would be a very fair

So, with that in mind, once again, we DO blame Bush.

Thank you for illustrating the point that started this discussion.
Here is yet another bugger-eatin'-moron blathering on about something
completely unrelated to this group.

And why?

Because in any group where folks were REALLY interested in this topic,
they would

Thanks for illustrating the pointn N0 0bama0! You're yet another
bugger-
eatin'-moron right winger blathering away about something that has no
bearing
at ALL to this group. And why? Because in a group where folks in the
know
DO discuss this, he'd be buried and laughed off of the group!

I'm neither Republican or Democrat, I'm a Libertarian. You know,
what
Thomas Jefferson was. What many republicans were before they
got so hot to sell out completely to the highest bidder. All of that
garbage you spouted took up more room than the whole rest of the
discussion,
and never a mention of the irreparable harm done by the Reagan
administration.
And yet, HE is credited with ending the Cold War??? Charlie Wilson did
more to
end the cold war than the entire Reagan administration, which really
means that
the only thing they can really be credited with is destroying whatever
chances this country ever had of maintaining some checks and balances
inherent in the two party system.

Face it, you REALLY haven't a clue, you can only maintain belief
in the republican party by listening to bloated, corrupt, drug
addicts
that get paid top dollar to create from whole cloth whatever noise
will sound like reason to their deeply disenfranchised and
confused audience.

I won't go off on the Democrats because, quite frankly, they're
just not as completely off the wall, at least on this group, AND,
AGAIN,
THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS GROUP IS HERE TO
DISCUSS!

Pull your head out! and get your ass off of this group if you
have anything to discuss other than shortwave radio! Be a man
and see how long you last in a political discussion group
fairly represented by ALL parties. Of course you won't,
you haven't the brains or the guts!

After letting 9-11 happen, so he'd have a rationale to invade Iraq

Just do some "eyeball" filtering of the list. I've been reading the

"government shortwave" is streamed on the net these days.

I got a copy of "Spycraft." It calls those numbers station OWVL (one
way voice link). The book has a page on the one time pad, how to
decode and encode, etc.. Now what's cool is there is a photo in the
book of a Soviet spy working on his OWVL decoding. The photo was taken
by the KGB, who was spying on the spy.

I highly reccommend the book. Lots of geeky stuff in it since it is
written from the viewpont of the techies in the CIA.

It takes no special skill to receive a 100,000 Watt radio station 3,000
miles away. It is much more fun to get a 200 Watt airplane halfway to
Japan, or a USCG C-130 doing SAR over the Caribbean or something.

Then there's the hams...
