Bruce,
It's a fun radio, the G5 that is, rarely overloads, and does the job off the whip. I prefer it over the 750 (which I returned) because it's much more portable. It's the perfect size in my opinion. Only wish it had a 5khz tuning instead of the 1khz. I got a G6 I use also but always need to hook up a wire via a gator clip to get good reception on. The G6 with a set of headphones does well. Deaf on longwave and useless on the airband. My 350SL just sits in my shed now as a radio if I am working outside. My G8 is my latest radio. It sucks on shortwave, overloads badly but is a good AM dxing radio. I would say equal to the G5 on AM reception. |
