Caught Radio Wolverine on 6950 Saturday night 2200 CDT playing music on (presumably) his ham transceiver. Am I the only one who thinks music on single sideband sucks? I miss the days of real pirate stations. These guys using ham rigs aren't that interesting. I listened to a pirate tonight on 6925u for awhile, good strong signal here in California, with lots of old jazzy blues from maybe the 1930s. *East to recognize songs, would have been an easy QSL if.... But I agree, music on SSB is a pretty bum, but in this case it was even worse - the station ID at 0230 was virtually impossible to copy because it was done with strong reverb and sound effects, and then they went to what sounded like ugly facsimile machine noises as an "interval signal" and went OTA without another ID or mail address. Stupid. Bruce Jensen Probably Wolverine Radio. Also heard WBNY on that frequency earlier. Check out: http://www.hfunderground.com/board/i...board,3.0.html Jim Wolverine Radio sounds like the one, right programming. Thanks! |
